How To Use
Welcome to Your GreenCow Experience!
We are so excited for you to start making fresh, additive-free beverages at home! To ensure your very first batch goes flawlessly, please read through this quick-start guide. We have broken down exactly how to set up, safely operate, choose your settings, clean, and troubleshoot your new Plant-Based Beverage Maker.
📦 Step 1: Unboxing & Setup
Before you begin, make sure you have removed all packaging materials from the jug and the accessories.
Important Note for Australian Customers: Depending on the manufacturing batch of your machine, it may come with a universal plug. We always include a high-quality Australian adapter inside the box. Please carefully check the protective foam inserts and cardboard packaging, as the adapter is often tucked securely inside a cutout to keep it safe during transit! Simply plug the adapter into the cord, and you are ready to plug your machine into the wall.
⚠️ Step 2: Essential Safety & Operation Rules
To ensure your machine lasts for years and to keep you safe, please adhere strictly to these operational rules:
-
Mind the Water Line: You must never turn the machine on without water in the chamber. Always ensure the water level sits securely between the MIN and MAX lines printed on the inside of the jug before starting a cycle.
-
Hands Out: Never put your hands or fingers inside the chamber while the machine is plugged into the wall, even if the screen is off.
-
Safe Cleaning: The base of the jug contains sensitive electrical components. Never place the machine directly under a running tap or submerge it in water while it is plugged in.
🚀 Step 3: The Quick Start Guide
Our machine is designed with a strict built-in magnetic safety lock to prevent accidental spills and keep your fingers safe. If the machine is not aligned correctly, it will completely lock the motor.
1. Secure the Lid (The Safety Lock)
Ensure your machine is plugged into the wall, fill the water to the min/max line, and place the lid on top of the jug. Look for the raised knob on the edge of the lid. You must twist the lid so this knob sits perfectly inline with the main jug handle.
Note: The machine does not "click" into place; it simply needs to be visually aligned. Once it is perfectly aligned with the handle, you will hear a beep. This beep means the safety lock is disengaged and you are ready to cycle through the menu!
2. Select Your Setting
The text on the digital screen is for display only—it is not a touch screen! To change your setting, tap the "Function / Cancel" button repeatedly. Each time you tap it, the indicator light will jump to the next option in the menu until your desired setting lights up.
3. Starting the Cycle
Once your desired function is lit up, do not press and hold any buttons. Simply wait a few seconds. The machine will register your selection and start the cycle automatically!
⏱️ How to Use the Preset (Delay Start) Function:
If you want to wake up to fresh milk, the process is exactly the same! Simply tap the Preset button to cycle through the options until you reach your desired delay start time. Once your time is selected, just wait a few seconds. The machine will automatically lock it in and begin the countdown.
🎛️ Step 4: Understanding Your Control Panel
Your GreenCow machine has several specialized settings to create different textures and temperatures. Here is exactly what each setting on your panel is designed to do:
-
Thick soymilk: Uses a heated blending cycle designed to create a richer, creamier, and more concentrated soy milk.
-
Soy Milk: The standard heated setting for traditional hot soy milk, extracting maximum flavor and nutrients.
-
Rice paste: Applies heat and gentle blending to create warm, smooth rice porridge, congee, or thick grain pastes.
-
Complementary Food: Designed for gently cooking and pureeing soft ingredients. This is excellent for making homemade baby food or warm, smooth vegetable purees.
-
Boil Water: A simple heating cycle that quickly brings water to a boil without activating the blending blades.
-
Juice (Unheated): The go-to setting for raw juices, cold smoothies, and Oat Milk. This cycle only blends and does not apply heat, ensuring your cold beverages stay fresh and your oats do not cook into a slimy texture.
-
Keep Warm: Maintains a gentle temperature after a heated cycle so your beverage stays warm and ready to drink.
-
Cleaning: A dedicated self-cleaning cycle that pulses water to easily wash the blades and interior (see Step 6 for details).
🥕 Step 5: Best Practices for Ingredients
Because this machine is specifically designed to pulverize nuts, oats, and seeds, the internal blades are relatively small. To get the silkiest results, preparation is key:
-
Creamy Almond Milk: While you can use dry, raw almonds straight away, soaking your almonds in water for 4 to 8 hours (or overnight) before blending will give you the absolute creamiest results. Soaking softens the nuts, making it much easier for the small blades to pulverize them completely and extract maximum flavor!
-
The Secret to Perfect Oat Milk: Oat milk is notoriously tricky in any blender! If the water gets even slightly warm, the oats will start to cook and the milk will become thick and slimy. For the absolute best results, always use ice-cold water and ensure you only run the machine on the unheated "Juice" setting.
-
Hard Root Vegetables (Beetroot, Carrots, Ginger): These ingredients are incredibly dense. You do not need to cut them into perfect tiny cubes, but simple slices for preparation will suffice. The golden rule is: the smaller the slices, the easier the blend! If the chunks are too large or heavy, the blades won't be able to catch them.
✨ Step 6: Self-Cleaning
Cleaning your machine is incredibly simple! You do not need to scrub the inside with a sponge.
-
Fill the chamber with water so it reaches between the MIN and MAX lines.
-
Add just 1 pump of standard dish soap.
-
Secure the lid, align it with the handle to clear the safety lock, and select the "Cleaning" setting. Let the machine do all the hard work for you!
🛠️ Troubleshooting & Common Questions
My machine is flashing an "E2" error and won't start.
The "E2" error means the magnetic safety lock is not engaged. If the machine is plugged in and the raised knob on the lid is even a fraction of a millimetre off-centre from the main jug handle, the machine will flash "E2" and lock the motor. Simply twist the lid slightly until it aligns perfectly with the handle. Once aligned, you will hear a beep, the E2 error will clear, and you can select your function!
The machine is stuck on a setting and won't change.
If a light is on, your machine is receiving power perfectly! Remember, the screen itself is not a touch screen. Do not try to press the text. Simply tap the "Function / Cancel" button to cycle the light through the menu to your desired setting, and then just wait a few seconds for it to start.
The machine is running, but it's just swishing the water around without blending.
This means your ingredients are too large or too heavy for the blades to catch the vortex. Stop the cycle, pour out the contents, and chop your ingredients into smaller, thinner slices before trying again.
